🛠️ Damage Waiver Policy – Discount Party Rentals
At Discount Party Rentals, we understand that accidents happen. That’s why we offer a Damage Waiver for just 10% of the rental contract, designed to provide peace of mind and help cover accidental damage to rental items during your event.
This policy outlines what is covered, what is not, and how it protects both our equipment and your budget.
✅ What the Damage Waiver Covers
The Damage Waiver is a non-refundable, optional fee added to every rental order. It helps offset the cost of minor accidental damage that can occur during normal event use. Coverage includes:

💥 minimal amount of Small chips, cracks, or breakage of glassware, dishes, and china

🪑 Scuffs, scratches, and surface damage to tables and chairs
-
🧺 Light stains on linens (food, drinks, minor makeup, etc.)

🍽️ Bent or scratched flatware or serving utensils
-
🔌 Minor wear on AV cords, plugs, or adapters
-
🎉 General cleaning of tents and equipment due to normal use
The waiver is not insurance, but it helps protect you from being charged a cleaning fee or
the partial / full replacement value for small accidents.
❌ What the Damage Waiver Does Not Cover
While the Damage Waiver covers light, accidental damage, it does not cover the following:
🚫 Loss or Theft

Missing items of any kind (tables, chairs, linens, etc.)

Items not returned within the scheduled pickup window
🚫 Negligence or Misuse

Damage due to abuse, misuse, or improper use of equipment

Items used for purposes other than their intended use
-
Burn marks, cuts, or intentional damage
🚫 Weather-Related Damage

Water damage to linens, tables, chairs, or AV equipment left outside

Tents that collapse or are damaged due to high winds, heavy rain, or improper site prep

Damage caused by failing to secure or cover equipment properly
🚫 Electrical Damage

Equipment damage caused by incorrect voltage, overloading circuits, or power surges
🚫 Structural Tent Damage

Ripped canvas or sidewalls caused by pulling, cutting, or attaching unauthorized decorations

Frame damage due to tampering or moving the tent after setup
-
Stakes, anchors, or poles damaged due to underground utility issues when locates were not performed
💳 Security Deposit / Refundable Hold
In addition to the Damage Waiver, a refundable credit card hold may be placed on all orders or tent installations. This hold is released within 3–5 business days after all equipment is returned clean, complete, and undamaged beyond normal wear and tear.
📝 Customer Responsibility
By signing your rental agreement, you acknowledge that:

All items will be returned in the same condition they were delivered

You are responsible for any damage beyond what is covered by the Damage Waiver

All rented items will be secured in a covered, protected area before and after your event

You must notify Discount Party Rentals of any lost or damaged items immediately upon pickup or return
🧾 Final Notes
The Damage Waiver is optionally added to all rental contracts. If an item is lost or damaged beyond the scope of the waiver, the customer will be billed and credit card will be charged for repair or replacement costs as outlined in our rental agreement.
